About us
BÜRO X has an impressive track record in advertising and corporate communications since 1990, creating strategy, design, ads and media for market leaders like multinational reinsurer Munich Re, print publisher Gruner+Jahr, and German national broadcaster ARD Das Erste. Hanno Tietgens is the founder, and owner of BÜRO X. Born in 1959, he has been in publishing, brand advertising and corporate communications since 1976, founding German local magazine "Journal Frankfurt" in 1979, working as an award winning copywriter with TBWA, McCann-Ericksson and Baader, Lang, Behnken in the 1980s, and starting BÜRO X with Designer Lo Breier on May 1, 1990. Hanno and BÜRO X have consulted institutions like DIHK and the IHK organization on creative strategy and communications, plus a multitude of brands ranging from JET Conoco, Hugo Boss and German Railways (Deutsche Bahn) to British American Tobacco and Maggi.
In 2006, Hanno founded BÜRO X Media Lab. The Lab explores the convergence of classical and digital media on the internet, with a focus on 3D virtual environments. Since 2006, BÜRO X brought Hamburg City, CAMPUS HAMBURG IN 3D and the University of Hamburg to the innovative web platform of Second Life, with support from Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, the City of Hamburg and Hamburg@work. The Lab is building the 3D Hamburg Islands region in Second Life, sponsoring social and cultural activities like theatre, soccer and live music events. BÜRO X Media Lab has also been consulting TÜV NORD Group, one of Germany's largest technical service providers, on their 2D internet relaunch in 2008/2009, and has been a part of their knowledge-driven TÜV NORD IN 3D project from day one.
